A scaffolding quote usually looks cheaper at first glance. That figure rarely includes erection labour, waiting time, and the cost of dismantling once the work is done. For a three-storey building, scaffolding typically takes two to three days to erect with a four-person crew.
Boom lift hire starts from RM 400 per day for a scissor lift and RM 600 per day for an articulating boom lift, delivery to site included. The machine arrives in the morning and work can start the same afternoon.

Both methods fall under JKKP safety regulations. Scaffolding must be inspected by a competent person before use and after any weather event or structural change.
A boom lift requires an operator holding a PMA certificate, and the machine itself must be JKKP certified. The advantage is that workers stand inside a guarded platform wearing a harness, not on an open board.
When to Pick a Boom Lift and When to Pick Scaffolding
A simple rule: if the work moves around the building or runs for less than two weeks, hire the machine. If a large crew needs to stay on one elevation for months, scaffolding is usually more economical.
